Peer Review Process
The International Journal Science of Technology (IJSOT) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality in its publications through a rigorous and transparent peer-review process. All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review to ensure impartiality and fairness. The steps involved in the review process are as follows:
-
Initial Submission and Editorial Review
Upon submission, the manuscript is evaluated by the editorial team to ensure that it aligns with the journal’s focus and scope, and that it meets the necessary standards for scientific quality and originality. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected at this stage. -
Double-Blind Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial review are sent to at least two independent expert reviewers in the relevant field. During the double-blind review process, the identities of both the authors and reviewers are kept confidential. Reviewers are tasked with evaluating the manuscript based on the following criteria:- Originality and novelty of the research
- Technical soundness and methodological rigor
- Clarity and coherence of the presentation
- Relevance to the journal’s scope and contribution to the field
- Proper citation of previous work
-
Reviewer Feedback and Recommendations
After reviewing the manuscript, the reviewers provide detailed feedback and recommendations for improvement. Based on their evaluations, reviewers will recommend one of the following actions:- Accept without revisions
- Accept with minor revisions
- Request major revisions and resubmission
- Reject the manuscript
-
Author Revisions
If revisions are requested, authors are given the opportunity to revise their manuscript according to the reviewers' comments and recommendations. The revised manuscript must be submitted within the specified timeframe for further evaluation. -
Editorial Decision
Once the revisions are submitted, the manuscript may undergo another round of review if necessary, or the editorial team will make a final decision based on the reviewers' feedback. The final decision can be:- Accepted for publication
- Accepted with final minor revisions
- Rejected
-
Final Proof and Publication
After the manuscript is accepted, it goes through a final copyediting and proofreading process to ensure it is free of errors. Authors will have a chance to review the final proof before publication. The article will then be published in the next available issue of IJSOT.
IJSOT strives to complete the peer review process as efficiently as possible while ensuring a thorough and comprehensive review of all submissions. The typical review process takes between 4 to 8 weeks from initial submission to final decision, depending on the responsiveness of reviewers and authors.
